I am pleased to announce that The Tatua Board of
Directors has appointed Mr Paul McGilvary as its new CEO. Paul replaces
former CEO Dr Mike Matthews, who retired from Tatua in December
2007 after serving the Company for 13 years.
Paul is currently Chief Executive Officer of HortResearch,
a Crown Research Institute, which is New Zealand’s leading
horticultural and food research company. Paul has been CEO of HortResearch
since 2002.
Prior to his current role at HortResearch, Paul
enjoyed a dynamic career within the dairy industry, essentially
offshore with the New Zealand Dairy Board, now Fonterra. He held
successful general management positions in Australia, Germany and
Russia, before being appointed Managing Director of NZMP for Europe,
based in London.
Paul is a Graduate of Victoria University with a
Bachelor of Commerce and Administration with Honours in Economics.
He has also completed the Senior Executive Programme at Stanford
University in the United States and the Advanced Management Programme
at INSEAD in France.
Paul is married to Karen and has two adult children.
Paul will take up the position with Tatua in early
June becoming the ninth Chief Executive Officer in Tatua’s
ninety-four year history. In the meantime I will continue in the
role as Executive Chairman.
This is a very exciting appointment for Tatua. We
regard Paul as one of New Zealand’s leading Chief Executive
Officers with proven leadership capabilities. Paul has international
dairy experience, strategic ability, and commercial acumen. We believe
his empathy with science, technology, research and new product development
in the food industry makes Paul an excellent appointment for Tatua.
Both parties are very excited about the future opportunities.
Yours sincerely
SB Allen
